Here is a table showing the position of each finger of the left hand:
| Pinky | Rests on key A |
| Ring | Rests on key S |
| Middle | Rests on key D |
| Index | Rests on key F |
| Thumb | Rests on the space bar |
Learning touch typing requires practice to get used to placing your hands correctly; at first this might feel a bit difficult. We will first practice pressing the keys with the left hand.
Now place all the fingers of your left hand on keys A, S, D, F and the space bar.
Do you think you could use only your left hand to type ASDF and the space bar?
